Bastian Weinhold, drummer/composer - born 1986,Germany.

After graduating from high school, at the age of 19, Bastian moved to The Netherlands to study Jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. After three years of study at the Conservatory, The New School For Jazz And Contemporary Music and the Manhattan School Of Music in New York City offered Bastian to continue his study at their institution. In August 2009 Bastian moved to New York City to study at Manhattan School Of Music with Justin Dicoccio, John Riley and Clarence Penn.
At the age of 23, The Manhattan School Of Music offered Bastian to continue studying in the Masters Program. He of course took the challenge and received a full scholarship for his musicianship and talent on the drums from the country of Germany.

Since moving to New York City Bastian has had strong impact on the music scene and performed, played, or recorded and worked with many great musicians like Steve Wilson, Joey Calderazzo, John Escreet, Seamus Blake, David Liebman, Jonathan Kreisberg, Miguel Zenon, Adam Larson, Linda Oh, Zack Lober, Franz von Chossy, Michael Sagmeister, and many more.

Bastian performed at most major Jazz venues as well as international Jazz Festivals and Jazz venues around the world.
In the past, he received several grants and awards for his outstanding performance as a musician and composer and in March 2010 Bastian recorded his debut CD as a leader "River Styx", which will be available October 1st 2010. The CD features some of the most exciting musicians of the New York jazz scene: Adam Larson(Tenor Sax), Pascal Le Boeuf(Piano), Nils Weinhold(Guitars) and Linda Oh(Bass) and received excellent reviews in the US, Europe, Canada and Japan.
Bastian is working as a teacher and educator and has given workshops and clinics as well as private lessons for many years.
